The Business of Spaghetti Sauce

Is there anything better than your favorite spaghetti sauce? Ok maybe. But, spaghetti sauce has to be in your top 10 at least! The only question is ……. Prego vs. Ragu?

Check out this informative (if not life-changing) Ted Talk by Malcolm Gladwell and see what conclusion you come to.

Malcolm Gladwell on Spaghetti Sauce

Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith”

  1. My father has an expression, which he explains with an example. “There is such a thing as overselling. When Tony [his boss of many years] was in sales, he was demonstrating an edger to this man who loved his flowers very much. The man was ready to buy it, just wanted to know the price, when Tony just had to demonstrate the edger one more time… and chopped up the man’s flowers. No sale. Once you have a deal, you stop selling.”

I tell you that because your spaghetti line way undersold the Malcolm Gladwell talk. That talk explains what he is driving at in Outliers so well – and I believe the talk must precede Outliers. Still, he is a man with a great deal of diversity in his background who teaches people to appreciate the beauty of diversity, and who strives to make opportunity more available to the masses. Thanks for sharing the talk – I finally got around to watching it tonight, and it’s great. I shared it with one of my professors because it is a nice way to help students in his class feel encouraged to read that book, which is assigned this semester.

    • It’s better to undersell then oversell right? 🙂 Ya I’m a HUGE Malcolm Gladwell fan and it all started with Outliers for me (although the Tipping Point and Blink are also favorites). I’m glad you enjoyed the talk.
